FANCY A CUPPA?

In my cupboard, among lovely colour coordinated tableware I also have all these odd coffee mugs that have sort of collected themselves over the years. You know the ones I mean; the one with a chirpy slogan such as ‘Worlds best mum’. Then you have the holiday one with the destination written all over it that you bought so you weren’t going to forget what a great time you had. Then you have the really faded one ( too many times in the dishwasher) that is your favourite, you know the one that you hug like a teddy bear and is always a little stained from the tea that you leave in it for too long. Not sure why I have saved them all but I think it’s just because they are so good to drink from!
My kids have just started to acquire a taste for a cup of a tea in the mornings so I thought I’ll go for a hunt in the world of mugs to see if I could find some beautiful ones that are both fun for the kids to look at and perfect to drink from. What I’m saying is that I want them to have a better mug collection that I have!

Well, I wasn’t disappointed. I discovered some fabulous porcelain mugs with
Pippi Longstocking and Emil motif. These playful Swedish book characters were such a big part of my childhood (will tell you more in another post) and now the famous Swedish company
Rorstrand makes them. Then I found the cutest mugs with the quirky and delightful
Barbapapa. I simply adore this French creation and his entertaining family. Finally I came across the famous
Moomins! These Finnish born characters each have their own mug and they are simply irresistible. I’ll write more about the lovable and mysterious moomins in another post so don’t miss that one!
Now, I’m going to put my feet up and have a nice cup of tea!
