What baby and toddler clothes does Baby Goes Retro stock?
Baby Goes Retro is an Australian, family-run store specialising in vintage and retro-inspired baby clothes, sourced from trusted Scandinavian and UK labels you generally will not find on shelves here. Our range covers everything from bodysuits, rompers and dungarees through to dresses, tops, bottoms, socks and hats, spanning newborn right through to kids sizes up to age nine.
Whether you are after everyday infant outfits for daycare, a full infant clothes set for a newborn, or something special for a first birthday, the collection is built around pieces that get worn on repeat rather than sitting in a drawer. We carry both baby and kids ranges, so families can keep shopping with us as their child grows out of infant clothes australia-wide sizing and into school-aged basics.
Brands include Frugi, DUNS Sweden, Kite, Toby Tiger, Blade & Rose, Slugs & Snails, Danefae and Smafolk, each chosen for a mix of ethical production, colourful design and genuine everyday practicality, rather than fast-fashion pieces meant to be worn once and outgrown.
Are Baby Goes Retro's baby clothes organic and sustainable?
Yes. Our baby clothes are made primarily from GOTS-certified organic cotton or OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, which means the whole production process, from how the cotton is grown through to how it is dyed and finished, meets a recognised ethical and environmental standard, not just the raw fibre.
For newborns especially, this matters for comfort as much as sustainability. Newborn organic cotton and 100% cotton newborn clothes tend to be softer against sensitive skin and hold up better to the daily wash cycle than synthetic blends, which is a big part of why organic baby clothes and organic infant clothes are worth the switch even if the price sits slightly higher than fast-fashion basics.
We stock both cotton newborn clothes and 100% cotton infant clothes across the range, so if you are specifically after cotton clothes for infants or newborn cotton clothes rather than blended fabrics, checking for the GOTS label on each product page is the easiest way to confirm you are getting the real thing. Choosing sustainable baby clothes and sustainable newborn clothes over conventional options also means less pesticide use and lower water impact in how the cotton is grown, which is part of our founding mission as a family business.
What sizes do you carry, from newborn through to kids?
Our baby and toddler range runs from newborn through to 3 years, and our kids range continues from there up to age nine, so there is no need to switch stores as your child moves through each stage. Within the baby range, sizing follows standard brackets like 0-6 months, 6-12 months and 12-24 months, with plenty of options in between, including popular 3-6 month outfits and 3-6 month clothes for the fastest-growing early stage.
Sizing does vary slightly between brands, so it is worth checking the specific size guide on each product rather than assuming a Frugi 6-9 month piece and a DUNS Sweden 6-9 month piece will fit identically. If you are buying ahead or unsure between two sizes, sizing up is usually the safer call, since a slightly roomy fit still looks good and buys extra weeks of wear.
We also stock ready-made infant clothes sets and gift bundles if you would rather buy a coordinated infant set in one go instead of building an outfit piece by piece, which is a popular option for baby showers and newborn gifts.
